Trapezoidal ring

 

The section of the trapezoidal ring is trapezoidal, and its main advantage is good adhesion resistance. For some diesel engines with a large load, the first ring is easy to be stuck in the ring groove and loses its function due to bonding. However, when using the trapezoidal ring, the trapezoidal ring will constantly change its position in the compression stroke and power stroke with the direction of side pressure on the piston.

 

This will extrude the carbon deposit in the ring groove, and avoid the ring from being stuck in the ring groove and breaking, which can prolong the service life of the ring and is more conducive to a cold start. In addition, there is a semi-trapezoidal ring, which has the characteristics of inner and upper twisted rings. The main disadvantage of a trapezoidal ring is that it is difficult to process and requires high precision. It is generally used as the first gas ring of a diesel engine.

 

Barrel face ring

 

The outer circular surface of the barrel face ring is a convex circular arc, and the circular surface is in contact with the circular arc of the cylinder wall, effectively avoiding corner load. The adaptability to the cylinder surface and the piston deflection is good, and the sealing and running properties are good. It can form wedge-shaped oil film in the cylinder no matter up or down, floating the ring, thus reducing the wear of the ring and the cylinder wall. Its main disadvantage is that it is difficult to machine convex arc surface.

 

Oil ring

 

The oil ring is used to distribute oil upward and scrape oil downward. The utility model has three types: slot hole type, slot hole spring supporting type, and steel strip combination type, and the latter two types are commonly used at present. In contrast, the steel belt combined oil ring has more advantages, stronger oil scraping, and distribution functions, and stronger adaptability to cylinder out of roundness and piston deformation, so it is used more and more widely.
