Cylinder liners work in a very harsh environment and wear for many reasons. Under normal circumstances, structural causes allow for normal wear, but improper use and maintenance can cause abnormal wear.
Structural causes of wear and tear
1. Poor lubrication causes severe wear on the upper part of the cylinder liner. The upper part of the cylinder liner is close to the combustion chamber, with high temperatures and poor lubrication conditions. Fresh air body and unvaporized fuel flushing and dilution intensify the deterioration of the upper working conditions so that the cylinder is basically in dry friction or semi-dry friction state, which is the reason for the cylinder's upper wear serious.
2. The upper pressure, so that the cylinder wears more heavy and light. Piston ring in its elasticity and back pressure tightly pressed in the cylinder wall. The greater the positive pressure, the more difficult it is for the lubricating oil film to form and maintain through developmental changes, and mechanical wear intensifies. In the working stroke, as the piston falls, the positive pressure gradually decreases, so the cylinder wear is getting heavier and lighter.
3. Inorganic and organic acids make the cylinder surface corrosion and flaking. The combustible mixture in the cylinder after burning produces steam and acidic oxides, these oxides dissolved in water, produce inorganic acid. Together with the organic acid produced in combustion to corrode the cylinder surface layer, corrosive substances in the friction process are gradually scraped off by the piston ring, resulting in cylinder liner deformation.
4. Mechanical impurities in the cylinder, intensify the wear and tear of the middle of the cylinder. The dust in the empty air and impurities in the lubricating oil entering between the piston and the cylinder wall, causing wear and tear. Or dust or impurities with the piston in the cylinder reciprocating movement, due to the highest speed of movement in the local position in the cylinder, intensify the wear and tear of the middle of the cylinder.
1. Poor filtering of the lube oil filter. If the lube oil filter does not work properly, the lube oil cannot be effectively filtered and the lube oil containing a large number of hard particles will certainly intensify the wear of the inner wall of the cylinder liner.
2. Low filtering efficiency of the air filter. The role of the air filter is to remove the dust and sand contained in the air entering the cylinder, thus shortening the wear of the cylinder, piston and piston ring, and other parts. Experiments have shown that if the engine is not equipped with an air filter, cylinder wear will increase by 6-8 times. Air filters can not be long-term cleaning and maintained, poor filtration will accelerate the cylinder liner wear.
3. Long-term low-temperature rotation. Long-term low-temperature rotation, one is caused by poor combustion, carbon from the upper part of the cylinder liner diffusion, resulting in serious wear of the upper part of the cylinder liner; two is to lead to electrochemical corrosion.
4. Often use poor-quality lubricants. Some partners often buy poor-quality lubricants from roadside shops or illegal oil dealers to save time and money. As a result, the upper part of the cylinder liner is strongly corroded and the wear is 1-2 times larger than normal.
1. Improper installation position of the cylinder liner. Install the cylinder liner, if the installation error, cylinder centerline, and crankshaft axis are not perpendicular, will cause the cylinder liner abnormal wear.
